Sweep Picking Exercise

Updated: Oct 30, 2023

Here's a sweep-picking exercise I love to do as part of my warmup. Now, I am not a shredder, so this really doesn't have to do with speed as much as it does with clarity and stability.

What we're going to do is start on a B major 7 and we're going to sweep each note down. And then sweeping back up, we're going to pull off the high E string and play each note in reverse. And then we'll play that twice and then move up to a C sharp 7, and essentially do the same thing. Now, that whole phrase loops really well, so check it out. Have fun with it.
